Nambala Help Grows Up
A week ago we (Kathi and Christoph) came back from Tanzania. And also slowly our heads are landed in Germany. After three weeks, there is a lot to report. On our travel blog we published many stories. In these first few lines we want to give an impression of what has accompanied and what moves us. In addition, we are currently writing a report about the next steps Fri Sucode/Nambala Help needs to go in the coming months and years to be a reliable partner in regional development in the area of Nambala.Anyone in Germany who has followed our blog, knows that we visited 20 supported households to capture the living, health, education and income situation. It has been shown that especially the families have a minimum secure life basis, which were able to develop an own sources of income. Fri Sucode and Nambala Help have started with the first Village Community Bank (VCOBA) in Nambala. This is one of the most important achievements in life and created foundations for this. The part of our project must necessarily be expanded and if possible are made available for all supported families. Similar potential we saw in the dairy goat project, which allows families a growing source of income. At all sites, it is important to promote that self-potential of the people, to empower them and to provide only the necessary support by donations. The school fees that we pay, often takes over this function. But more important is the education that is provided by Baraka and his colleagues.
For this reason, we are also thinking about ways and means to strengthen this part of our support for Nambala Help for a professional development of the organization. We would love to use the next meeting with the other supporters in Germany to introduce proposals. We want to put Fri Sucode in Nambala, Tanzania on solid and sustainable legs. For every 45 families and the entire region that we currently support, we want develop and to be a reliable aid in long-term. Work that has been done until now and that will be done is incredibly valuable and great. At the same time, we see that the tasks are growing and we should think ahead. In this spirit, we look forward to working with all co-thinkers of Nambala Help to tackle the future.
